Ribchester too good in the Lockinge

3 minute read

Ribchester put in a great win to win the G1 Lockinge at Newbury on Saturday down the 1600m straight.

On his previous outing Ribchester had run third in the Dubai Turf and doesn't look as if the travel has done him any harm. William Buick as again in the saddle for Richard Fahey. Second home was Lightning Spear, 3 3/4 lengths behind the winner but 2 1/2 lengths in front of his stablemate Brecon Rock - David Simcock trains both - with the latter going off at 25/1. Somehow was fourth 3/4 length further back.
